Hyperkalaemia
- Assess ECG changes and urgency immediately.
- Treat with calcium to stabilise the myocardium when indicated, then shift potassium intracellularly and remove potassium from the body.
- Think about renal failure, acidosis, medications, tissue breakdown, and endocrine causes.
